Dorothy Lorene Atchley

Dorothy Lorene Atchley, age 86 of Bryant, Ark., formerly of Sheridan, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2011. She was born Dec. 8, 1924, in Prattsville, Ark., to the late James Alison Crutchfield and Lady May (Kennedy) Crutchfield. She was employed by Westinghouse for over 33 years. Mrs. Dorothy was recently named the 2011 Southern Trace Health Care beauty queen. She was of the Baptist faith for many years. She is survived by daughters, Judy Jones and her husband, Jerry, of Van Buren, Ark., and Brenda Berry, of Benton, Ark.; brothers, Zula Bird, Zelma Highsmith, Jerry Crutchfield, and James Crutchfield, of Sheridan; sisters, Helen Lipscomb, of Seminole, Fla., and Betty Tapley, of Greenbrier, Ark.; grandchildren, Bobby, Diana, Michael, Jeffrey, and Tina; 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, with one on the way. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives who will miss her dearly. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011, at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan, Ark., with Brother Brad Warren officiating.
