Charles Eugene Wooley

Charles Eugene Wooley, age 88, of Harrell, Ark., died Saturday Oct. 1, at Pine Hills Health and Rehabilitation in Camden, Ark. He was a former resident of Banks, Ark., from 1946 until 1970, when he moved to Harrell. He was born Dec. 5, 1922, in Hermitage, Ark., the third of four children, to the late Ghen Wooley and Ella Collins Wooley. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps, was a World War II Army veteran who served in the Pacific Theater, and he retired in 1988 from St. Francis Material Co. in Harrell, Ark. He was a Christian and the widower of Mary Evelyn "Sis" Wooley, who died Dec. 20, 1994. They were married in Feb. 1943. Also, preceding him in death was son Henry Eugene Wooley, who was killed in Vietnam in 1968, a brother Ralph Lavon Wooley, and a sister Geraldine Payne. Survivors are his wife, Ever Lee Vines Wooley, whom he married in Sept. 1999; one son, Andy Wooley and spouse Lee Herrick, Houston, Texas; one step son, Mark Adams, Harrell, Ark.; one sister, Carolyn York Guinn, Hermitage, Ark; two step grandchildren, Tyler Adams and Bailey Adams; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Frazer's Chapel. Burial with flag presentation in McFarland Cemetery at Banks, Ark., by Frazer's Funeral Home.
