Irene Vines

Irene (Woodruff) Vines, 88, of Grubbs, departed this life on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice. She was born October 5, 1923 in Jackson County, the daughter of Bee and Edna (Hughes) Woodruff. Mrs. Vines was a homemaker, and helped her husband on the farm many years. She was a member of Ballew's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, and enjoyed working in her yard, and especially spending time with her family. Mrs. Vines was preceded in death by her husband, Elton H. "Dad" Vines; daughter-in-law, Sue Vines; one brother, Luther Woodruff; one sister, Edith Woodruff; and her parents. She is survived by one son, Wayne Vines and wife Pam of Grubbs; one daughter, Janet Kinard and husband Eugene of Grubbs; three sisters, Helen Crain and Ludean Coker, both of California, and Joan Estes of Washington; four grandchildren, Keith Kinard and wife Kathie of Jonesboro, John Thomas Vines and wife Libby of Hot Springs, Ann Vines of Memphis, and Christy Case and husband Chris of Jonesboro; six great-grandchildren, Nick Kinard, Eden Kinard, Reese Vines, Abby Case, Ellie Vines, and Jordan Fortenberry and wife Ashley; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday, 6-8 p.m. Funeral services are 2 p.m., Saturday at Jackson's Newport Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Gracelawn Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Troy Vines, Alvin Vines, Melvin Vines, David Bradbury, Lyvone Thornton, Woody Woodruff, Steve Thornton, Buck Wagner, and Rex Oliver.
