George Timothy Evans

George Timothy Evans, 92, formerly of Hot Springs, passed away Oct. 2, 2011, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Ill. He was born in Hot Springs, Ark., to Ruth Evans & Wiley Evans. He was a graduate of Langston High School and a retired bailiff for the Illinois Appellate Court and the state Supreme Court in Chicago. He was predeceased by his parents Ruth Evans & Willy Evans and his wife Tiny Marie Evans. Survivors include his sons George Wiley Evans of Little Rock, Ark., Chief Judge Timothy C. Evans of Chicago, Ill.; a daughter Sandra Johnson (Perry Johnson) of Pine Bluff, Ark. and 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Hazel Bailey of Malvern, Ark. A wake is planned at 6 p.m., Oct. 10 at Greater Institutional A.M.E. Church at 7800 S. Indiana Ave. Funeral service is at 7 p.m. Interment will be Tuesday, Oct. 11 at Oak Woods Cemetery. With services entrusted to A.R. Leak Funeral Home, 7838 Cottage Grove Ave., Chicago, Illinois, and Local arrangements by Brandon*s Mortuary, Malvern, Ark.
