James Lowell Turner

James Lowell Turner, 85, of Casa, Arkansas, passed away on October 10, 2011. He was born on January 3, 1926 in Hazen to Ben and Mary Turner. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings. Jim retired from Petit Jean State Park and attended Welcome Home Baptist Church. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corp as an aerial gunner on a B-29 in the South Pacific. Jim also served in Korea as a tech sergeant. He enjoyed attending the annual reunions of the 504th Bomb Group. Jim is survived by his wife, Jean; two daughters, Teresa Turner (Robert) of Conway, and Debby Nowell (John) of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Lynette Long (Kevin), Rob Turner (Tracy), and Dax Nowell; and two great-grandchildren, Jaren and Kalen Long. Service and burial, conducted by Rev. Mike Arndt, will be held at the Arkansas State Veterans' Cemetery in North Little Rock on Thursday, October 13, at 10 a.m. The family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Jessica Joheim and the staff at Hospice Home Care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his church or Hospice Home Care.
