Clara Mae "Pete" Patton, 80 of Wooster passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011 in her home. Born April 8, 1931 , in Kirby, AR to the late Bill and Gertrude ( Merritt) Mitchell. She was a long time employee at Dean Milk Company until they closed in 1982. She was a bookkeeper for Jerico Construction, in Wooster for several years and bookkeeper for her family business. She was a member of Wooster First Baptist Church. She attended Kirby Schools and played basketball, the sport she loved. On January 24, 1948, she married John R. Patton, who preceded her in death on October 9, 2001. She loved working in her flower beds, gardening, and sitting on her back porch visiting with family and friends. She was a beautiful women who always wanted to look her best, wherever she went. She was a very sweet woman who touched the lives of many people. Survivors are her son, Gary Patton and wife Peggy of Wooster; two grandchildren: Todd Patton and wife Tammie Dawn also of Wooster; Jennifer Merritt and husband Daniel of Conway; one great-grandchild, Coltin Patton of Wooster; brother, Richard Brown and wife Sue of Glenwood, and a special daughter-in-law, Nancy Patton of Wooster and a host of friends. Preceding her in death were her previously mentioned parents and husband; a sister, Jo Keaton of Hot Springs and great-grandson, John Talin Patton. The family would like to thank Oleta Arnold and Beth Williams, who had taken care of Clara in her final weeks. Services will be held at 1 p.m., on Friday, October 21, 2011, at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier with Bro. Freddie Mark Wilcox and Bro. Matt Pryor officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery with Gene Whitley, Jim Baker, Mike Patton, Jim Jolly, Daniel Merritt and Tommy Browning serving as pallbearers.
