Arthel Edward Moffitt

Arthel "Doc" Edward Moffitt, 87 of Romance, Ark. was born on October 7, 1924 in Joy, Ark. to the late Jesse Lee and Bessie Clay Moffitt, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2011. He was a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and worked for International Shoe for 33 years, retiring from S.A.S. Shoe Company. n addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 17 years Patricia J. Moffitt on August 19, 2001; his son, Ricky Moffitt; brother, Jewel Moffitt and sister, Elois Townsend. He is survived by three sons; Gary Moffitt, Johnny Moffitt and wife Jenny and Jackie Moffitt and wife Tammy, all of Romance; three step-children, Tina and Ronnie Durall of Dover; Pete Hill of Clarksville; and Lisa and Todd Birginske of Russellville. Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, three brothers; Melvin "Mutt," Elzie, and Clayton; two sisters; Orean Taylor and Mary Harris; and many nephews and nieces. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2011, at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home. Mr. Moffitt's funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2011, in the Chapel of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mt. Hebron Cemetery.
