Dennis A. Moon

Dennis A. Moon, 62, a resident of London, died Wednesday, September 7, 2011, in Johnson County. He was born February 1, 1949, at Texarkana, Arkansas to Tom Charles "T.C." and Jonnye Louise Burrow Moon. He served as pastor for several churches in Arkansas, including Carthage Missionary Baptist Church in Carthage, New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Casscoe, Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in DeWitt, Flatwoods Missionary Baptist Church in Mountain View, First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan, Carlisle Missionary Baptist Church in Carlisle and Heritage Church at Russellville. He was currently employed at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center and was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren and was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles David Moon. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Judith Moon of London; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lance and Tiffany Moon of Cabot and Mike and Gina Moon of Hensley; a daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Roger Goodwin of Bauxite; nine grandchildren ranging in age from 11 months to 13 years old; and other relatives and friends. A family conducted memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2011, at Flat Rock Baptist Church with Rev. Michael West officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service in the fellowship hall.
