Vada Craddock Shields

Vada Craddock Shields, age 89, of Glenwood, died Friday, Sept. 16, 2011. She was born Aug. 17, 1922, in Pickens, Okla., the daughter of Bob and Alice Craddock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Shields; her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Peggy Shields; her brother, Ted Craddock; and her sister, Rosie Copeland. She was a member of the Glenwood Church of Christ. She is survived by three children and their spouses, Doyle and Mary Shields, and Kathy and Harold Vaughn, all of Glenwood, and Gene and Gail Shields of El Dorado; nine grandchildren, Kris (Shields) Tortorice, Ritchie Shields, Eddie Shields, Angie (Shields) Killingsworth, Mike Vaughn, Tammy (Vaughn) Golden, Scott Shields, Michelle (Shields) Wolleson, and Chad Shields; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two nephews, Kenneth Craddock and Ted Craddock; one niece, Faye Ashford; and her sister-in-law, Elvie Shields. Services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, in the Glenwood Church of Christ with Harold Vaughn and E. J. Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, 6-8 p.m. Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Mike Vaughn, Eddie Shields, Ritchie Shields, Scott Shields, Chad Shields, Andy Vaughn, and Kaid Vaughn. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
