O.C. "Bob" Bolding

O.C. "Bob" Bolding, 80, died Monday, April 2, 2012, two days away from his 81st birthday. Bob was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War where he served in the Air Corps. He was a Baptist and owner of Bob's Auto Parts Stores in Bald Knob, Augusta and Searcy for over 44 years. He was the proud founder of the Bald Knob Country Club, served on the board of the United Methodist Church, Bald Knob City Council, and was a Bald Knob Volunteer Fireman for over 10 years. He was also a member of Bald Knob Chamber of Commerce and coached Little League baseball. He started the Buddy League program for Bald Knob. Bob was a member of the Arkansas Official Association for over 10 years and had served on the Bald Knob School Board. Survivors include his loving companion, Betty; two daughters, Rebecca Starks of Plainfield, Indiana and Stephanie Hopkins of Maumelle; three sons, Bobby Bolding of Marion and Michael Bolding of Jonesboro and Eric Beaver of Marietta, Ga.; brother, Wayne Bolding of Searcy and sisters, Mrs. Ann Phillips of Clarksville, Ruth Palmer of New Castle Delaware, and Darlene Medord of Portland, Oregon; four grandchildren, Hope Starks of Columbus, MS, Codie Bolding of Jonesboro, Matthew and Nicholas Hopkins of Maumelle. Bob enjoyed life on the golf course, hunting, spending time with family and friends and just laughter everyday. Visitation will be Wednesday beginning at 1 p.m. prior to services. Services will be Wednesday, 3 p.m., Powell Funeral Chapel. Interment: Evergreen Cemetery by Powell Funeral Home Bald Knob-Judsonia. www.powellfunerahome.net.
