Herman Gerald Davis, 74, of Cabot, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 2, 2012. He was born May 9, 1937 in Antioch, Ark., the son of Wilmot and Evelyn Bell Davis. As a member of Briarwood Baptist Church, he served as a deacon for 15 years. He truly enjoyed helping others in any way he could. A retired mechanic of 32 years with Bale Chevrolet, he was a genius with engines. If it had a motor, he could fix it. If it didn't, he would build one for it, and he always added a horn, too. He loved to mow on his John Deere, and enjoyed piddling in his shop. He was a good husband, father, grandfather, and brother-in-law. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carole Davis; one son, Kevin (Wendy) Davis; one daughter, Terri Davis; two grandchildren, Eli and Owen; and one sister, Shirley Turner. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 6, 2012 at Briarwood Baptist Church in Cabot, Ark. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Briarwood Baptist Church Building Fund. To sign his guestbook, please visit www.arkansasfuneralcare.com. Arrangements made by Arkansas Funeral Care, Jacksonville.
