Evangelist Elizabeth "Lumpty" Ballard-Young, 69, of Little Rock, was born April 11, 1943 and departed her life on April 12, 2012. Liz was known as a loving grandmother to everyone she met. She sang locally and nationally spreading the good word with the Evangelistic Voices and the Spirituelettes. She was an angel with a good heart.
She is preceded in death by her parents, the late Elder H. Ballard and Bishop H.L. Ballard; two sisters, Sereatha Shell and Floyd Jean Smith; one brother, Jerone Ballard; and one grandson, Randall Crutchfield. She is survived by her only child, Rhonda Smith; eight grandchildren, Roshonda Forte (Reginald), Amitra Crutchfield, Aaron Smith, Timothy Smith, Shinel Smith, Trenton Smith, Corey Smith, and Chloe' Smith; two brothers, Elder Larry Ballard (Maylee), Pastor Walter H. Ballard; four sisters; Naomi Ballard Webb, Prophetess Mary Ballard Cotton, Lisa Ballard Ticey, and Augustine Ballard; 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation: 1-6 p.m., Friday at Robinson Mortuary. Family hour: 7-8 p.m., Friday at Old Landmark House of Prayer, 2001 Simpson St., Little Rock.
