Trilby Joyce Brenner

Trilby Joyce Brenner, 84, born Oct. 7, 1927, died at home in Parkin on Friday. She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, John A. Brenner. He was also her second grade boyfriend. Her greatest joys were her three children, 10 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters, as well as numerous close friends. She was valedictorian in 1945 of Parkin High School, where she was an all-state basketball player. She enjoyed golf, cooking, bowling, bream fishing, any Razorback sport, card games, and all activities in which her children and grandchildren participated. She had a great sense of humor and a wonderful smile. Trilby was a member of the First Baptist Church in Parkin, and she was active throughout her adult life in the First United Methodist Church in Parkin. She was a former Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Leader, Sunday School teacher, and was active in PTA, several bridge clubs and the Parkin Garden Club. She had a BSBA in accounting from the University of Arkansas, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Trilby always put her family first. She loved nothing better than large get-togethers with family and friends, and she could host parties in a seemingly effortless fashion. She will be missed beyond words. She is survived by her husband, John A.; daughters, Debbie Crisler of Yazoo City, Miss., Brenda Slabaugh of Wynne; son, John Brenner Jr. and wife Dawn of Marion; sister, Laurice Jackson of Columbia, S.C.; 10 grandchildren, and two great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, W. Arthur and Helen McClure Earnheart; sisters, Beatrice Kirby, Fern Coleman, Muriel White; brothers, W. A. Earnheart, Robert Earnheart and Thomas "Gip" Earnheart. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012 at First United Methodist Church in Parkin, with funeral services following at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Cogbill Cemetery in Wynne, Ark.
