Mildred Johnson

Mildred Johnson, age 92, of Yellville, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012 at her home in Yellville. Mildred was born November 10, 1919 in Yellville, the daughter of the late John and Frona (Cline) Cochran. Mildred married George Riley Johnson on December 12, 1940; together with their three sons, they lived in numerous towns across the U.S. She worked for 16 years at Baxter Lab in Mountain Home and was a member of First Baptist Church of Yellville. She enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, and spending time with her family. Mildred is survived by two sons: Tom Johnson and his wife, Kathleen of Katy, Texas; and Steve Johnson of Yellville, Arkansas; two sisters: Mary Gail Williams and Minnie Musgrove, both of Yellville; three grandchildren: Clare Johnson of Houston, Texas; Samantha Johnson, of Yellville, Arkansas; and Stevi Disney, of Harmon, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Riley; an infant son, George Michael Johnson; her son, Mark Johnson; three brothers: George, Chase, and Troy Cochran; and one sister, Mae Oxford. Visitation was held at Burns Funeral Home on Monday, April 23, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral service will be at First Baptist Church in Yellville on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 2 p.m. with Bro Rick Pyron officiating. Interment will follow at Nanney Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Oxford, Stuart Oxford, Don Cochran, Dan Duren, Phil Rook and Philip Still.
