Joan Balmer Tack

JOAN BALMER TACK, 77, of Little Rock, Ark. passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, surrounded by her family. Joan was born May 3, 1935 in Ayr, Scotland. She had a great passion of sewing and for 15 years with her husband Bill and son Barry owned Barry's Men's Shop. She was a professional ice skater in Scotland in her younger years. She is survived by one son, Barry Tack and his partner, Doug Spann of Little Rock; two daughters, Debbie and her husband Al Philpotts of Allentown, Pa., Cheryl and her husband Jim Ewing of Benton, Ky., and her sister, Margaret Dybalski of Seattle, Wash.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her husband, William G. Tack Jr.; her sister, Betty; father and mother, James and Flora Balmer. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
