Veda McCaslin

Mrs. Veda McCaslin 76, of Clinton, Ark. passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at her home. She was born June 7, 1936 in the Banner Mountain Community, Ark. to the late Loy Glen and Gertha (Williams) Harness. She was employed for the past 59 years by Arkansas Telephone Company, a family owned and operated business, serving as business office manager. She attended the United Methodist Church of Clinton and served on the board of First Service Bank. In 2003, Mrs. McCaslin received the Clinton High School Distinguished Alumni Award. She was the loving wife of the late W.H. McCaslin whom she was married to for 46 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Loy Harness and Mrs. Gertha Williams Harness. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Sherry McCaslin of Clinton; a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Bob Watson of Hector; grandchildren, Zach and Kelsey Watson of Conway, Whitney Watson of Little Rock, Cade and Heather Watson of Fort Smith, Lucas Watson of Russellville, Joshua and Elizabeth McCaslin of Fayetteville, Caleb and Lauren McCaslin of Little Rock, Blake McCaslin of Fayetteville, and Kristen McCaslin of Fayetteville and two great-grandchildren, Adler Watson of Conway and Jett Watson of Fort Smith. Other survivors include two sister-in-laws, JoAnn Whiteman of Fayetteville and Judy Wood of Fayetteville; a brother-in-law, Clyde McCaslin of Fayetteville; three nieces; three nephews; an uncle; an aunt; cousins and their families. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the Clinton Alumni Scholarship Fund or the Van Buren County Special School. Family is receiving visitors from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2012 at Clinton United Methodist Church. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 at Clinton United Metodist Church with Rev. George O'Dell officiating. Interment will follow at Clinton Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Clinton, Ark.
