Wasyl Zahursky

Wasyl Zahursky, 82, of West Helena, Arkansas passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Jonesboro, Arkansas. Mr. Zahursky was born December 15, 1929 at Keclerova, Ukraine to the late Kharlampij Zahursky and the late Edwokia Baran Stroschenko. He is survived by a son, Nicolas Zahursky of West Helena; a daughter, Kathrina Z. Carter (Winston) of Helena; two grandchildren, Katrina Lynn Logan and Michael Wayne Shenep, both of Alligator, Mississippi; a brother, Andre Zahursky of Krasnodarsky Kray, Ukraine; and four nieces, Tonia Kidd, Zina Smith, Nina Park and Nadia Wedgehoft. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 48 years, Zdenka Maria Kleckner Zahursky; four brothers, Ivan Zahursky, Nicolas Zahursky, Anton Zahursky and Gregory Zahursky. A graveside service for Wasyl Zahursky will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Park at West Helena, Arkansas. Reverend Rodger Hooker will officiate.
