Alveda Traylor of Mayflower passed away Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012. Veda was born Sept. 7, 1929 in Independence County. She was the daughter of Alvis Columbus Perkey and Ruthel Naomi Crow (Matlock) of Cave City, Ark. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ralph Traylor. Stepdaughter is Angie Allen of Sherwood and three grandsons, Chase, Caleb, and Bryce. She is survived by her brother, Elmer Don Perkey and his wife, Loree, of Paragould, Ark.; nieces, Donna Helvering and husband, Robert, of Omaha, Neb. and Patty Ernst and husband, Don, of Little Rock, Ark.; great-nephews and nieces, Doug Helvering (Megan) of Princeton, N.J., Dan Helvering of San Francisco, Calif., Kristin Jackson (Kyle) of Paragould, Ark., Katie Ernst of Reston, Va., and Jon Ernst of Little Rock. She was a Cosmetologist and served on the Arkansas State Board of Cosmetology with two terms as President and one term as National President. She was member of Mayflower United Methodist Church.
