John P. McGrail

John P. McGrail, 77, of Hot Springs Village passed away December 17, 2012. He was born April 17, 1935 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late William Edward McGrail and Sarah Joyce McGrail.
John was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Alcoa Aluminum Inc. He was active in Village golf serving as chairman of the golf committee and worked as a course marshall. John had an amazing Irish tenor voice and was very active in the Village Players writing producing and acting. He was a faithful and proud member of AA for 27 years. John was also a die hard Notre Dame and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
John is survived by his wife of 51 years, Margaret McGrail of Hot Springs Village; son, Dennis McGrail (Carol) of Austin, Texas; daughter, Colleen McGrail (Tim Sanders) of McKinney, Texas; sister Frances Slivinsky of Pittsburgh; and grandchildren, Maggie Sanders, Claire Sanders, Jack Sanders and Veronica McGrail.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Bill Elser as celebrant. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart of Jesus Columbarium. Visitation will be 4-4:30 p.m. Thursday at the church with rosary recited immediately following.
