Wilma Louise Welch Strube, of Cabot passed on to her eternal life with Christ the Savior, Tuesday, December 18, 2012. Wilma was born to Alonzo Rivers and Macie Magdeline (Slayter) Welch in Dry Prong, Louisiana, on February 5, 1935. Working her way up to head bookkeeper for Harold Gwatney at Citizen's National Bank, Wilma retired after many years of service. Wilma was a faithful member of Landmark Missionary Baptist church for 40 years and, more recently, Mount Carmel Baptist Church.
Wilma is survived by her son, Doug Strube (Marcia), daughters Pam Busch (John), Brenda Edwards (Greg) and Twila Kaseberg (Deron) and was known as Nana to her eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren: Dustin Strube, wife Andrea and children Riley Ann and Alex; Cortney Strube Kay and husband Bryan; Carley Strube Langford, husband Jeremy and children Jaxon and Kensley; Amber Busch Lindley, husband Brad and children Garrett and Anna Grace; Ryan Busch, wife Robin and son Bennett; Sarah Busch; Lucas and Seth Edwards; Erik Temple and wife Megan; Jacob Temple and Alison Kaseberg; step-grandchildren Christa Strube Paulson, husband Steve and children Hagan and Adhelin; Matthew Casey and son Jayden; and Mark Casey and wife Christine.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Stan Kellar, Dr. John Hayes, Dr. Susan Delap, Dr. Caldwell, Dr. Barton, Dr. Orsini, and Dr. Green and their staff at the ICU Baptist Springhill and Baptist Extended Care in Little Rock for their determination and kindness during this difficult time.
Celebration service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Cabot, with Pastor David Mitchell. Graveside service will follow immediately at the adjacent Mount Carmel Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home and Crematory (501) 843-5816.
