THOMAS O. SIMMONS, 80, of North Little Rock passed away Friday, Dec. 21, 2012. After graduating from North Little Rock High School, he worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad for ten years. He retired from the Arkansas Air National Guard, and was a retired Captain from the North Little Rock Fire Department and serving in the fire marshal's office. He was a member of Baring Cross Baptist and a Master Mason at Big Rock Lodge for 50 years. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Connie S. Simmons; two daughters, Karen Simmons Ashley (Bryant) and Barbara Simmons Satterfield; son, Thomas Dean Simmons (Diane); four grandchildren, Lauren Ashley Montgomery (Blake), Daniel Ashley (fiance Andrea Nehus), Sy Satterfield and Bret Satterfield; two great-grandchildren, Clayton and Laney Montgomery; and brother, Jack Simmons (Marilyn). He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas O. Simmons, Sr. and Pearl Hand Simmons. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made Baring Cross Baptist Church, 7541 Warden Road, Sherwood, Ark. 72120 or Arkansas Hospice, 14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, Ark. 72116. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday at Baring Cross Baptist Church, with a visitation at 9 a.m., before service time at the church.
