Frances Mallory Jeffress

Mrs. Frances Mallory Jeffress, age 97, of Forrest City, died Friday at the Crestpark Retirement Inn in Forrest City. She had been in poor health for the past year and a half. Mrs. Jeffress was born March 11, 1915, in Little Rock, and was the daughter of Frank L. Mallory and Annie Harris Mallory. She lived in Little Rock until moving to Forrest City in 2005, graduated high school from Little Rock Central, graduated from the University of Tennessee, was a Chi Omega, was a member of the Aesthetic Club and many other organizations, was a teacher and dietitian in the Crossett Public Schools for many years, and was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Little Rock. Mrs. Jeffress married Leslie E. Jeffress and he preceded her in death in 1969. She is survived by one son, Leslie M. Jeffress of Knoxville, Tennessee, one daughter, Jessie J. Uptigrove of Forrest City, and three grandchildren; Kaylie, Emily, and Alyssa. Services for Mrs. Jeffress will be held Graveside, 1 p.m. Thursday, at the Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Little Rock. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
