Genie Reed Thibault of Hartford, Ark. died early Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012. She was born Dec. 26, 1943, to Olive Reed Towns who retired from teaching at Norphlet, Ark., schools. She is preceded in death by her parents. She married Felix Thibault Oct. 1, 1967 at St. Paul's Methodist Church. When her mother and she moved back to El Dorado, her mother told her to pick out a church, St. Paul's was the church she chose. Her family were among the first white settlers in Union County. We may live in Hartford, but the center of her family is in Union County. Her relatives the Lacy family were instrumental in the founding of First Presbyterian Church in El Dorado. When they lived in Hot Springs, Ark., she was a member of Garland County Extension Homemakers. Genie loved to sing and was quite accomplished. She was also quite precise and loved animals whom she spoke to in melodious tones. She went to considerable lengths to recycle. The family requests that in her memory you recycle when you can, put water and food out for animals, read to children, plant plants and flowers, sing songs and listen for her singing on the breeze. Genie Belle was one of a kind and our heart aches. "Genie Belle" was the wife of Felix Thibault, a truly fortunate man for 45 years. Her daughter is Sarah Margaret Thibault Gosa, wife of David Gosa and mother of Trent Augusta Gosa of West Memphis, Ark.; her sons, are Felix James Thibault of Bentonville Ark., Charles Henry Thibault, husband of Brandy Duffett and father of Cole Vincent Lev Thibault and Mila Eleanora Blu Thibault of Memphis, Tenn., and Frank Watson Thibault of Hartford, Ark. Her memorial will be held at St. Paul Methodist Church in El Dorado, Ark. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at 10 a.m. under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors with Dr. Daniel Loomis officiating. An online guest registry will be available at www.youngsfuneralhome.com.
