Frank Warren Miros, 79, of Lavaca, Arkansas, passed away on December 25, 2012 at St. Edwards/Mercy Hospice in Fort Smith, Arkansas, after a short illness. He was born in Huntington, West Virginia, on August 24, 1933 to the late Francis and Elizabeth (McGinnis) Miros. Frank graduated from Saint Joseph High School in Huntington in 1951. He went on to Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina for four years and graduated from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. Frank was a veteran of the Korean War and early in his service career was stationed in Fort Smith, Arkansas, where he met his loving wife of 41 years, the late Frances Elizabeth "Betty" Sokora. They were married in Slovak, Arkansas, in 1957. Fort Smith became their home and Frank was the President of Westark Medical Supply Company in that city. He was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church and a booster of many school programs. He had a kind, generous spirit and enjoyed cooking for others. He was a dedicated caregiver for family, friends, and troubled youth. He also enjoyed challenges, and was proud that, in his younger days of Scouting, he had earned the rank of Eagle Scout as well as the Ad Altare Dei Award. In addition to his present spouse, Norma, whom he married in 2002, Frank leaves behind to celebrate his life, four sons, Michael (Suzi) Miros of Benton, Arkansas, Stephen (Kim) Miros of Ocala, Florida, Gregory (Kathy) Miros of Little Rock, Arkansas, and David (Jen) Miros of Saint Louis, Missouri, two daughters, Michele (Jimmy) Jones of Talmo, Georgia, Lisa (Donald) Drewry of Rogers, Arkansas, and four step-daughters. Frank has twelve grandchildren, Sarah Westmoreland, Andrew, Matthew and Thomas Miros, Meghan and Emily Miros, Lauren, Tim, Sam, and Landon Drewry, Kade Miros, and Elise Miros. Two sisters, Nancy Miros Denny of Columbus, Ohio, and Therese Miros Stewart of Gainesville, Georgia, Aunt Nellie Stone, Nieces and Nephews, Cousins and Friends. A gathering of remembrance, which will include the recitation of the Rosary, will be held on Sunday evening, December 30, 2012 at Saints Cyril and Methodius Church in Slovak, Arkansas, at 7 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be offered in Slovak on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Saints Cyril and Methodius Church. The celebrant will be Monsignor Jack Harris. Frank's children, their spouses, grandchildren, and his sisters invite you to Slovak for a celebration of his life. In lieu of flowers, you may want to donate to the Kidney Foundation or Saint Edwards/Mercy Hospice Program in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
