Bobby Joe Palmer passed away Dec. 28, 2012 at Beebe Retirement Home at age 74. He was born at home in Searcy, Ark. on April 16, 1938 to Parents Guss Palmer and Francis Slaughter Palmer.

Bobby was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was married to Linda Kay Chambless and they were happily married for 11 years and enjoyed their combined families and many friends at church and playing golf.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Monty Palmer of Pine Bluff, Ark.; daughters, Lana Havranek of Maryland, Andra Palmer of Rogers, Ark.; a step-son, Kevin Hinkle of Cabot, Ark.; a step-daughter, Kayla Dunlap and husband David of Pea Ridge, Ark.; a sister, Peggy Greer and husband Kenneth; a sister-in-law Camelia and husband Jay Reed of Garfield, Ark.; also, grandchildren who kept him young, John and Logan Havranek; step-grandchildren Brandon and Landon Hinkle, Chase, Colby and Shelby Dunlap; and great-grandson, Grayson Havranek.

He was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Searcy, and loved singing in the choir and the Spiritual Development Sunday School Class. He worked 41 years for Kroger and retired as meat department manager at Stuttgart, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Albert and Bertha Slaughter, and Elvin and Emma Palmer.

Funeral services will be at Powell Funeral Home in Searcy on Monday, Dec. 31. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. before the service. Interment will be at White County Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, or the First Assembly of God Church of Searcy.

Bobby Palmer was a great man and was just like family. I am praying for his family. He was a very nice guy and will be deeply missed.
