Rebecca Ann Poindexter, age 71, of Arkadelphia, left this world on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 and entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born and raised in Arkadelphia by her parents, the late Henry Grady and Eula Elmer Walker.

Rebecca was a loving mother and grandmother foremost. She enjoyed her family and being a homemaker. She was also the owner of Fireplace Fashions, a family operated clothing store for many years. She was also a caregiver for several local families before her retirement. Rebecca was a member of the First Christian Church in Arkadelphia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Grady Walker, husband and father of her children, Ellis Jester, husband, Everett Poindexter; one nephew, Mitchell Walker and one niece, Paulette Walker.

Rebecca is survived by her two daughters, Sandy Manning (Donny) and Sheila Williams (Larry), both of Arkadelphia; two granddaughters, Kristin Kiernan (Blain) of Benton and Madeline Williams of Arkadelphia; one great-grandson, Jaxon Kiernan of Benton; step-father to her daughters, Edgar Ball of Arkadelphia; one older brother, Charles Walker (Margaret) of Arkadelphia; one younger sister, Peggy Wilson (Jackie) of Benton; one niece, Kimberly Leech (Kelly) of Benton; and two nephews, Chad Wilson of Benton and Jonathan Walker (Liz) of Little Rock.

Her life will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Temon Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in the Unity Cemetery with Pastor Scott Jackson officiating graveside. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 30 from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Rebecca's family would like to thank the staff of Baptist Medical Centers of Arkadelphia and Little Rock for the care given her during her time of illness. A special thanks is extended to the ICU and Comfort Care staff of Baptist Little Rock for their exceptional care and kindness shown to our Rebecca during her greatest time of need.
