Mrs. Glenna Marie Ellis Coleman Hudson, age 90, of Texarkana, Arkansas, died Monday, January 30, 2012 in a local retirement center. Mrs. Hudson was born March 2, 1921, in Ellisville, Arkansas. She was a longtime resident of Lewisville and Little Rock and had lived in Texarkana since 2004. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lewisville and was retired from the Arkansas State Department of Education. Her educational journey took her on Fulbright Scholarships to the University of Texas and the University of Mexico-Guadalajara. She also attended the University of Spain-Madrid, University of Costa Rica, University of Mexico-Monterrey and Saltillo, the University of Arkansas, Southern Arkansas University, University of Kansas, and Henderson State University. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orlan and Josephine Harris Ellis, one brother, James Robert Ellis, and her husbands, Frank Boyd Coleman and Charles Rayford Hudson, and her step-father, Lyvern Barnett. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Cathey and Robert McKinney of Fayetteville, Arkansas, two sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Shirey Coleman of Texarkana, Arkansas and Shelby and Diane Coleman of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Nena's grandchildren are Cole Mckinney, Amy Coleman Carlton, Rowland McKinney and wife Reagan, Matt Coleman and wife Krissy, Ashley McKinney Taylor and husband Shane, and Kyle Coleman and wife Catlin, and nine great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m., Sunday at Wilson Cemetery, Lewisville, Arkansas, with Rev. Bruce Bennett officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas. The family would like to thank Vannie, Angela, Audrea, and Tracy for the wonderful care given to our mother during her illness. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., Saturday and at First Methodist Church in Lewisville following the graveside services.
