Leola Ruth Shaw

Leola Ruth Shaw, 92, of North Little Rock died Wednesday, February 1st. She was the beloved wife of 55 years of A.G. Shaw, who preceded her in death in 1992. She was born April 3, 1919, at Dublin, Ark. daughter of John F. "Fate" and Martha Farnam but lived most of her life in the North Little Rock area. She and her husband had been members of Calvary Baptist Church since 1953 and previously were founding members of Cedar Heights Baptist Church. She sang in the Calvary choir for more than 50 years. Mrs. Shaw's life was filled with love for her family, enjoyment of her friends and dedication to her church. She was a skilled cook and gardener. She was predeceased by brother,s Mizell and Marshall Farnam and a sister, Cecile Johnsey. She is survived by son, Robert L. Shaw of Little Rock and his wife Joyce; daughter, Betty Dent and her husband Clyde of Maumelle; grandson, Robbie Shaw of North Little Rock; granddaughter, Erin Moore and her husband Dwight of Flower Mound, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Allison, Madison and Mason Shaw of North Little Rock and Caitlin, Haley and Ashlyn Moore of Flower Mound; sisters, Ima Yarberry of Austin, Texas and Laura Hogan of Paris, Texas. Her family thanks Arkansas Hospice, Baptist Hospital at Springhill and Robinson Nursing Home for their compassionate care. Visitation will be, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, February 3rd, at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, located at 7724 Landers Rd. in North Little Rock.
