Staton Frank Posey December 21, 1934 – February 1, 2012 Local retired pastor, Staton Posey, passed away Wednesday February 1, 2012 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark. Staton was born December 21, 1934, in Sheridan, Ark., the son of Frank and Zella Mae Posey. He was preceded in death by his brother, Edgar, mother Zella Mae, and father, Frank Posey. Staton is survived by Dorothy, his wife of 56 years, his sons, Paul and his wife Sherri of Houston, Mo., and Philip and his wife Nancy of Benbrook, Texas, and one daughter, Karen Staggs and her husband Mike of Chatham, Ill., eight grandchildren: Jonathan Posey and his wife Robyn of Nixa, Mo., Rebekah Loganbill and her husband Michael of Versailles, Mo., Jake, Josh, and Joe Staggs of Chatham, Ill., Haley, Kristen, and Jacob Posey of Benbrook, Texas, and one great-grandson, Micah Loganbill of Versailles, Mo. Staton was a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University, Arkadelphia, Ark. and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas and pastored Baptist churches for over 50 years in Arkansas, Ohio, and Oklahoma. He also taught Bible classes at Ouachita Baptist University extension (University Baptist Church, Fayetteville) and Ecclesia College in Springdale, Ark. for a number of years. He was a member of University Baptist Church, Fayetteville, Ark. Visitation will be from Friday evening from 5-6 pm at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove, Ark. and the funeral service will be held Saturday February 4, 2012, 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church Prairie Grove, Ark.
