Loretta Darius

Loretta Darius, 58, of San Antonio passed away, Sunday evening after an extended battle with rheumatoid lung disease. She was born in Beaumont, Texas and grew up in San Antonio where she attended Sam Houston High School. She went on to earn an Associates degree in Journalism from Beeville Community College in Beeville, Texas and later a Bachelors in Human Services with a minor in Sociology from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Ark. After earning her degree she went on to work with a number of non-profit organizations focused on helping low income families in and around Arkansas. She is survived by two brothers, Michael and David Darius; one sister, Sharron Waldo; one child, Jeremy Weiss and two step-children, Paul Stickley and Theresa Marshal as well as nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North.
