John S. Bragg

John S. Bragg, 90, of Camden, Ark. passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012. He was born August 7, 1921 in Fayetteville, Ark. to Peter Newport and Gladys Smith Bragg. He was a graduate of Texarkana High School in Texarkana, Ark. and the University of Arkansas with a degree in Science and Architecture. He was a World War II Veteran and earned a Bronze Star and Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of First United Methodist Church where he was member of the Al Rose Sunday School Class, Director of Ouachita Conservation District for seven years, President of Ouachita County Farm Bureau for seven years, a farmer and was a Rural Mail Carrier for 32 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; Peter Newport and Gladys Smith Bragg; and brother, Peter Newport Bragg. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara Bragg of Camden, Ark.; daughters, Gladys Strickland of Cordova, Tenn. and Becky Hall and husband, Dennis of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Eric Hall and Austin Hall both of Plano, Texas and Jonathan Strickland of Cordova, Tenn.; and brother, Braxton Bragg of Camden, Ark. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2012 at First United Methodist Church with burial in Bell Chapel Cemetery near Chidester, Ark.
