Francis Weaver

Francis Weaver, 95 of Stephens, Ark. passed away on Friday, Feb. 24, 2012 at the Magnolia Health and Rehabilitation Center in Magnolia. He was born on Jan. 13, 1917 in Stephens to the late Louie and Olive Bernice (Evans) Weaver. He was a veteran in the United States Army serving during World War II. Francis retired from Berry Petroleum Company and actively attended the First United Methodist Church in Stephens where he was a Sunday school teacher for thirty five years. He was an active member of the Stephens community serving on many civic and charitable organizations which awarded him the honors of the Stephens Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year Award and the Community Service Award. He is preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Ginger Sanders and two brothers. Francis is survived by his wife Hazel Weaver of Stephens; daughter, Carolyn Byrd and husband Wesley of Conway, Ark.; son, Gary F. Weaver of Lewisville, Ark.; three grandchildren, Stephen Weaver and wife Susan of Vestavia Hills, Ala., Reed Weaver and wife Tammy of Conway, Christi Sanders of Hot Springs and seven great-grandchildren, Coleman and Anna Weaver of Vestavia Hills, Grace and Aubrey Francis Weaver of Conway, Shelby and Nikki Sanders of Camden, and Katie Collie Keen of Glen Rose, Ark. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012 beginning at 1 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. at the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel in Magnolia with Rev. Cedric Walters officiating. Burial will follow at Stephens Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 304 East Ruby Street, Stephens, Ark. 71764 Pallbearers will be Stephen Weaver, Reed Weaver, Marty Wiggins, Wesley Wiggins, Tim Sanders, and Buddy Morgan. www.lewisfunrealhome.biz.
