Harry T. Lunn Jr. of Sherwood, died Sunday, January 1st, 2012 of complication of cancer. He was born February 10th, 1935 in New Orleans, La. to the late Harry T. Lunn Sr. and Janie Loyd Lunn. Harry is survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Louanna Farris. Other survivors are daughter Laurie Hamilton (Denny) of Lake Charles, La., son Mike Lunn (Pam) of Pensacola, Fla., and son Steve Lunn (Paula) of Lake Charles, La. He also leaves seven grandchildren: Jessica Spriggs, Heather Hamilton, Jenny Hamilton, Brett Lunn and Janie Lunn, all of Lake Charles, and Michael T. Lunn (Victoria) and Justin Lunn, both of Pensacola, along with two great grandchildren, Grace Spriggs and Drake Lunn. In addition he is survived by one brother, Rodney Lunn (Melanie) of Lafayette, La. and several nieces and nephews. Harry was graduated in 1957 from Southeastern Louisiana University and went to Louisiana State University for graduate school. He went to work for Olin Mathieson Chemical Company (Later Olin Corporation) in Lake Charles and transferred over the next 31 years to Saltville, Va., Stamford, Conn., Pasadena, Texas, and Little Rock, Ark., retiring in 1989 as Director of Manufacturing, Chemicals Group. An avid boater his entire life, he and his family fell in love with Lake Ouachita and spent all their available time houseboating, fishing, and enjoying nature's beauty there. They considered the lake their neighborhood and the many friends they made over the years at Mountain Harbor and later Brady Mountain resorts were their best friends and neighbors. Harry and Louanna have missed their wonderful lifestyle there since health problems kept them away for the past couple of years. Hunting was another of his favorite things that he enjoyed with a number of long-time friends, especially deer hunting in Mississippi for many years. There will be an informal gathering of family and friends on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, Arkansas. His request was for cremation and remains will be transferred later to Lake Charles, La. In lieu of flowers the family asks those who wish to remember Harry through their choice of charities.
