Charles Phillip Allen

Charles Phillip Allen, 64, of Lexa, Arkansas passed away Thursday, January 5, 2012 in Phillips County. Mr. Allen was born June 6, 1947 at Helena, Arkansas to the late Edwin Elbert and Thelma Pauline Spears Allen. Charles was a graduate of the University of Arkansas. He was a well-known attorney and owner of Allen Law Firm. He was a member of the West Helena United Methodist Church and Earl Wells Hunting Club. Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Melinda Allen of Lexa; one son, Phillip Allen (Sarah) of Helena, Arkansas; one daughter, Ashley Cunningham (Gordon) of West Helena; seven granddaughters, Katelyn, Emma, Kendall, Lucy, Sarah Lane, Charly, and Liz; one sister, Cheryl Allen of Judsonia, Arkansas; one brother, Larry Allen (Gretchen) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; a nephew, T.J. Miller of Judsonia; and a special friend, Andy Riddell of Helena. Funeral services for Charles Phillip Allen will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, January 9, 2012 at The First United Methodist Church in Helena. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Reverend Mark Massey will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5-6 p.m., Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Jimmy Gordon, Richard Johns, Jerry Robertson, James Johnson, Vernon Isabel, Jack Hornor, Lary Zeno, Po Jackson and Tommy Galloway. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Phillips County Bar Association. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the The First United Methodist Church, 502 Porter Street, Helena, Arkansas 72342.
