Katie Perry

Mrs. Katie M. Perry, 82, slept into eternity on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Perry Jr.; her parents, Mack and Bertha McTyer; and six siblings. She leaves to mourn two brothers, Melvin Sr. and Donald McTyer Sr. of Bloomington, Calif., and a sister, Ola F. Stewart; a brother-in-law, Paul E. of Valley Center, Calif. She also leaves to mourn, seven children, Robert III (Devonalu) of Fort Washington, Md., Charlette Davis, Dwight of San Diego, Calif., Cora Perry Strong, James Sr., Louis Sr. (Gennice), and Phillip Sr. (Frances) of San Antonio, Texas. Other survivors include 23 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and friends. The family hour will be on Friday, Jan. 13 (6-7 p.m.), at Greater Center Star Baptist Church (800 W. 33rd). The funeral services will be on Saturday, Jan. 14 (11 a.m.) at the same location, with Pastor L. Downs, officiating. Services entrusted to Premier Funeral Home, 1518 S.
