George Edward Passmore, 70, of Cabot died Tuesday, January 10, 2012. He was born February 19, 1941 in Bay to the late Albert and Katherine Baker Passmore. Mr. Passmore served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring after 24 years. Following his military service, he worked for the Postal Service and retired after 15 years service. Mr. Passmore attended McArthur Assembly of God Church in Jacksonville. He enjoyed working and fishing, but especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr.Passmore was preceded in death by his step-mother, Lavada Passmore; two sisters, Joyce White and Florence Holcomb and one brother, Jimmie Johnson. Mr. Passmore is survived by two children, Gloria Taylor (Stacy) of Cabot and George Edward Passmore Jr. (Julie) of Shreveport, Louisiana; two sisters, Ruth Hancock of Pontiac, Missouri and Erma Epley of Brookland; two brothers, Calvin Johnson of Brookland and Delmer Passmore of Benton, Louisiana as well as grandchildren, Alex Taylor, Danielle Cotner (Trae), Jack Bowles, Quinn Bowles, Triston Passmore, Cameron Passmore and Lacey Passmore and great-grandchildren, Addison and Taylinn Cotner. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday at McArthur Assembly of God in Jacksonville with Pastor Don Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery in North Little Rock under the direction of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501) 843-5816.
