A celebration of life service will be held for Carole Jean (Moore) Coffey at Hunters Glen Baptist Church in Plano, Texas on Monday, Jan. 23 at 2 p.m., Reverend Jody Mazzola will officiate. Mrs. Coffey passed away on Jan. 17, 2012. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and grandmother. She cherished spending time with her three grandchildren. Mrs. Coffey served as a dedicated member of the Collin County Child Protective Services (CPS) board from 1998 through 2012. During her 14-year role as a child welfare advocate for CPS, she served as a board member and president. She also founded the annual ‘Swing Fore Smiles' event which successfully raised funds to support CPS' mission to enrich and enhance the quality of lives of abused children and their families. Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Larry; son, Stephen and his wife Melissa Coffey of San Clemente, Calif.; daughter, Amy Bass and her husband Michael of Tyler, Texas; her mother, Evelyn Moore of Little Rock, Ark.; and grandchildren, Tanner Bass, Sydney Ellen Bass and Adam Coffey. She was preceded in death by her father, Doyce Moore. Please make donations on her behalf to the Child Protective Services Board, 2121 West Spring Creek Parkway, Suite 202, Plano, Texas 75023.
