John Aaron Harp, 76, of Prescott died Jan. 20, 2012. He was born Nov. 4, 1935 in El Paso, Ark. to L.M. Harp and Dollie Yancey Harp. Mr. Harp was of the Baptist faith, and a member of Wooster First Baptist Church where he was a deacon. He was also a Master Mason and a past member of the Wooster Volunteer Fire Department and City Council. Mr. Harp is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Yvonna Fisher. Survivors include his son Johnny Harp and wife Cheryl of Lowell, daughter Theresa Brown and husband Terry of Mayflower, and former wife Betty Harp High of Mayflower, sisters Mary Martinez of Cabot, Juanita Scaggs of Heber Springs, brothers Gene Harp of England and Tony Harp of England. Other survivors include grandchildren Chad Brown, Brandon Brown, Toby Brown, Matt Harp and Kassi Harp along with a host of other family and friends. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22 at Bishop-Griffin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23 at Wooster First Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Harp and Rev. Toby Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chad Brown, Brandon Brown, Toby Brown, Matt Harp, Jeremy Newton, Gene Harp, Vernon Salters and Johnny Smith. Honorary pallbearer will be Cliff Bailey.
