BERNIECE CHRISTINE HYNDS JONES was born Jan. 31, 1914, and was reunited with family and friends and her Lord Jesus Christ on Jan. 21, 2012. She slipped away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. Berniece was born in Searcy, Ark., the third of 10 girls, to David Elmer Hynds and Myrtle Henderson Hynds. She always said that her papa was so proud of his girls, that he didn't miss having sons. Berniece was married to Anderson Claude Jones and had five children, David M. Jones (Patricia) of North Little Rock, Kenneth Jones (Gerry) of Alvord, Texas, Lou Cordell of Jacksonville, Bette K. Middlebrooks of North Little Rock. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Yvonne Jones-Cerrato; granddaughter, Anna Christine Jones; great-grandson, Zachary Baker, who gave his life in service to his country in Iraq, and a great-great-granddaughter, Hailie Jones. She is survived by sisters, Viola Price, Lois Lawson, Erma Altom, Evelyn Miller of White County and Jody Frazier of Wichita, Kan; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Affectionately called Nanny, she was committed to her family praying for them daily, taking them to church and teaching them to love God first. She was always strong and ready to help when there was a need. She leaves a legacy of strength, courage and love. She was a charter member of Victory Baptist Church in Sherwood, she also was the eldest member. She loved her church and often said it was the place she would rather be than anywhere else. She was a retired seamstress that loved to sew, crochet, and work on ceramics, she participated in many senior activities including travel with friends, but her favorite pastime was always reading. We will miss her greatly until we meet again. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012 at Huson Funeral Home Chapel in Sherwood with Bro. Robert Harris officiating, with burial following at Rest Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in North Little Rock. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Huson Funeral Home in Sherwood. Sign an online guest book at www.husonfuneralhome.com.
