Mary Elizabeth Beard Watson

Mary Elizabeth Beard Watson, 65, of Crossett, Ark. passed away Saturday January 21, 2012 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Ark. She was born on September 6, 1946 in Warren, Ark. to her late parents, William Sid and Mary Ethel Morris Beard. She was a very loving wife, mother and devoted school teacher. Mary taught third grade in the Crossett School District for 32 years; retired in 2002 and returned to work the following year as librarian at Crossett High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ray "Bill" Watson. Survivors include; her son, John McClary Watson of DeWitt, Ark.; daughter; Laura Elizabeth Watson and fiancé Stephen William Huffman both of Conway, Ark.; a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 25, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Russell Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Beard Cemetery near Warren, Ark. under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, Ark. (www.jonesservice.com). Visitation will be held on Tuesday.
