Marquerite Towery Starnes

Marguerite Towery Starnes, age 83, of Camden died Friday, January 27, 2012. She was born December 21, 1928, in Kingsland, to the late Jim Bob and Dot Hall Towery. She and Marcus were active and faithful members of the Maul Road Church of Christ. She graduated Valedictorian of her 1946 class in Kingsland, Arkansas. She enjoyed planning and attending her class reunions every year. She was a homemaker and Substitute Teacher for many years at Harmony Grove School. She was a great cook, seamstress and enjoyed working in her flowers. She loved to travel, especially with her two daughters on their yearly trips. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren. She was a fun loving happy person who loved to laugh. She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed, but kept alive in our hearts always. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Marcus of 65 years on December 3, 2011; one brother; and a grandson, Daniel Starnes. She is survived by her children, Fred Starnes and wife, Pam of Camden, Suzette Goodman of Little Rock and Ginger Comeaux and husband, Russ of Camden and one sister Ila McKeever of Little Rock. She is also survived by grandchildren, Jondalyn Byrd of Cabot, Nathan Comeaux, Amber Campbell and Lane Comeaux all of Camden; great-grandchildren McCayla, Felix, Kindal, Jackson, Payton, Avery, Caroline and Isaac; a special and loving Caregiver, Joyce Smith who took care of Marcus and Marguerite for the past year. Services will be 2 p.m., Sunday at Proctor's Chapel with Johnny Hobbie and Russ Comeaux officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Proctor Funeral Home.
