Ruth Louise Hurley Wilson

Ruth Louise Hurley Wilson, 89, of Heber Springs, Ark. passed away Jan. 26, 2012. Born in Lincoln, Ill. on Jan. 8, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Opal Hurley. She was married to Joseph M. Wilson for 63 years until his death in 2010. Ruth worked as a bookkeeper before retiring to Heber Springs. Her hobbies included gardening, ceramics, needlework, sewing, cooking and collecting antique jars. She and her husband Joe enjoyed following the basketball teams of Memphis State and Arkansas. Ruth was a member of First United Methodist Church of Heber Springs, where she was active in several areas of the church. She was a weekly volunteer at Cleburne County Cares. Mrs. Wilson is survived by her brother Allen Hurley, sister Lorene Clement, sister-in-law Joy White, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Heber Springs on Feb. 4, 2012. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the God Pleasers of Heber Springs First United Methodist Church, Arkansas Children's Hospital, or St. Jude's. www.olmstead.cc.
