Owen Benson Hendrix

Owen Benson Hendrix, age 56, of Antoine died Saturday, January 28, 2012, at his home. He was born October 6, 1955, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, the son of the late Buford and Helen Manning Hendrix. He was a 1973 graduate of Delight High School and a lifetime member of the Antoine Church of Christ. Benson was a logger, served as a Justice of the Peace for Pike County Seat Number Four, he was an avid hunter and a member of Starling Hunting Club. After his dad's death, he and his wife ran Hendrix Store at Antoine. Benson achieved his childhood goal of obtaining his private pilot's license. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Buford Dean Hendrix. Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Hendrix; devoted son Benji and wife Delia Hendrix, adoring daughter Whitney and husband Morgan Ivy, all of Antoine; one sister, Peggy and husband Don Stanley of Searcy; one brother, David L. Hendrix, of Antoine; four grandchildren which were the pride of his life; Kaydee and Ben Hendrix, Owen Greyson, and Henry Hoit Ivy; his aunts, Flossie Childers of Prescott, Viola and husband Barnell Maddox, of Antoine, his uncle, Wilbert and wife Inez Manning of Arkadelphia; his brother-in-laws, Joe and wife Laura Anderson of Sheridan, Jon and wife, Kristi Anderson of Bryant, Mike and wife Bridgette McNabb of Conway; aunt by marriage, Mary McNabb of Conway; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 1st at Antoine Church of Christ with Wallace Alexander officiating. Interment will be in the Antoine Cemetery.
