Charles David Pickett

Charles David Pickett, 78, of Camden, died June 30, 2012, at Life Touch Hospice in El Dorado. Charles was born March 1, 1934 in Camden, Arkansas, to William John Pickett and Laura May Anders Pickett. As a business owner, his construction and building materials companies participated on highway and infrastructure construction projects throughout southern Arkansas for over 40 years. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Sutton Pickett; daughter, Laura Dianne Pickett; sisters, Mayvene Toll, Lorene Gaskins and Mildred Steed; and brothers Everett, Hugh, Robert and Ray Pickett. He is survived by his son, Charles Everett Pickett and wife Lynn of Cupertino, Calif.; grandchildren, Emma Pickett of Cupertino, Krystal Croce of Lytle, Texas, and Matthew Derdyn of League City, Texas; great-granddaughter, Kamryn Croce; sister-in-law, Katie Pickett of Camden; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and caregivers Michelle Stinnett and Ronald Marks. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday at Proctor Funeral Home with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday. Memorials may be made to LifeTouch Hospice in El Dorado.
