Magdalene Mitchener

Magdalene Mae Mitchener, 88, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away Sunday, July 1st, 2012. She was born May 5th, 1924 in Plummerville, Arkansas to A.G. and Thelma Smith Farrer. Ms. Mitchener was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was a very caring person, having been a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 57 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Mitchener Sr; and her daughter, Wanda Johnson. Cherishing her memory are her children, Elizabeth Brakebill (David) of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Jane Arnold of Longmont, Colorado, Dorothy Kelly of Suwanee, Georgia, Thelma Korgan (Richard) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Dennis Hamilton (Peggy) of Houston, Arkansas; two sisters, Mildred Burke of Prescott, Arkansas and Barbara Bennett of Hot Springs, Arkansas; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a host of special friends. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 5th, 2012 in the chapel of Griffin Leggett-Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock (501) 835-3515, with Rev.
