Rev. Robert Edward Mowery, Sr.

Rev. Robert "Bob" Edward Mowery, Sr., went home to the Lord on July 1, 2012. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Pearl Mowery. He is survived by his wife, Billie Ann Mowery; sons, Robert Mowery Jr. (Robbie) and Gary Wayne Mowery of Little Rock, Arkansas; grandchildren, Michael Wayne Mowery of Idaho and Christina Lawson (Tommy) of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; sisters-in-law, Kay Haynie Butler of Snellville, Georgia and Linda Haynie McCandless (Don) of Lexington, Nebraska; 11 nieces and nephews, and 23 great-nieces and nephews. Bob was born in Cairo, Illinois on September 17, 1934. He grew up in Memphis, Tennessee where he met the love of his life, Billie Ann Haynie. Bob and Billie Ann eloped when they were still teenagers, and lived a life filled with love for 58 years. They moved to Little Rock for a job managing a retail store. Bob had a calling to serve the Lord and left his job to become an ordained minister by the World Ministry Fellowship. He and Billie formed the Bridge Ministries in the late 70's and spent their lives ministering to troubled teens and young adults, and then later ministering to adults. Bob taught the traditional Jewish dance, and formed a group of dancers that traveled around the U.S. performing it in churches. He and Billie Ann served the Lord together, teaching and lecturing on the Jewish roots of the Christian faith, and Moses and David's Tabernacle. A Memorial service will be arranged at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of Arkansas or Alzheimer's Arkansas. The family would like to thank Noah and Kitty Knapp, our friends and staff at Pleasant Valley Living Center, and Odyssey Hospice for making Bob's last days more enjoyable. Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct., Little Rock, (501) 224-2200. Bob's online guestbook may be signed at www.littlerockfuneralhome.com.
