Clara Hellen Moody

Clara Hellen Barton Moody, 86, of DeValls Bluff exchanged her earthly tent for a mansion with many rooms prepared for her, Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Chambers Nursing Center, Carlisle, Arkansas. Born September 23, 1925 in Selma, Arkansas to Tarvie T. and Irma (Barrett) Barton. She moved to DeValls Bluff in the early forties with her family after graduating from Drew Central High School. Going to work for Prairie County Clerk and Abstractor E.B. Rogers, shortly meet and married on April 22, 1944, her husband of 66 years, Austin Raymond Moody. Working a lifetime with her husband both being Abstractors and Deputy Clerks of the Southern District of Prairie County until she retired in the early nineties. Survived by a sister, Audrey Pearson of Forrest City, daughter Judy Lammers husband Harold of Stuttgart, two sons Tarver Moody of Heber Springs, and John Moody wife Sandra of DeValls Bluff, eight grandchildren, Brent Lammers, Renae Ward, Kimberly Meek, Brandon Moody, Brad Moody, Bethany Middleton, Ryan Moody, Lucas Moody, great-grandchildren, Jacob Moody, Logan Ward, Carter Ward, Cooper Meek, Cady Brooke Meek, Ella Middleton. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister Elizabeth Moore Haven, and grandson Ross Barton Moody. Visitation is Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Garth Funeral Home in Des Arc.
