Floyd Clayton Auldridge

Floyd Clayton Auldridge of Sheridan, Ark. was born Oct. 26, 1929 in Fisher County, Texas the son of the late Marian Franklin and Bertha Eunice Croley Auldridge. He was of the Baptist faith, a member of the American Legion Post 30, VFW of Odessa, Texas, Fleet Reserve Association and the Disabled Veterans. He retired from the United States Navy after being a Veteran of 3 wars, World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Mr. Auldridge died Thursday, July 5, 2012 at St. Frances Hospital in Monroe, La. at the age of 82. He had been living at the Northeast Louisiana War Veterans Home in Monroe, La. prior to his death. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Buris "Bea" Williams Auldridge; three sisters and one brother. Survivors: daughter, Denise King of Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; step-daughter, Janie Carter of Crossett; step-son, Jerry Johnson of Little Rock; sister-in-law, Serla Cockerham of Sibley, La.; brothers-in-law, Tola Williams of Sheridan, Hollis Williams (Evelyn) of Beebe, Phillip Williams(Wilma) of El Paso, Ark.; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Brenda Tomlin. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2012 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville with Military Honors. Memorials may be made to American Legion Post, P. O. Box 672, Sheridan, Ark. 72150.
