Dorothy Oneda Smith

Dorothy Oneda Eskridge Smith 86, of North Little Rock, AR., born August 15, 1925, departed this life on Friday, July 6, 2012 to be with her Savior. She was a proud alumnus of Scipio A. Jones High School Class of 1942. She began her career working for Dr. Townsend at the Jacksonville Convalescent Center, later at Kellwood Corporation for several years and finally, retired from Maybelline, Inc. in 1996 after 18 years of service. Dorothy was a dedicated member of over 60 years to First Baptist Church in North Little Rock. She leaves to cherish her memories a loyal brother-in-law, Johnnie Hill of Los Angeles, Calif., three daughters, Joyce Maxine Smith Redus, Rasheedah Bey (Elaine Carol Smith) both of Kankakee, Iii., Ameedah Munir (Hazel Dean Smith) of North Little Rock, Ak.; a devoted son, Ronald L. Smith (Diane) of Jacksonville, Ark.; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, including two special friends, Pamela Johnson and Thomas Penn. Family hour will be held Friday, July 13, 2012, 6-7 p.m., at Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 S. Chester St. LR (501) 372-1305. Funeral services will be on Saturday, July 14, 2012, 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, S.A. Jones in NLR. Interment will follow at Haven of Rest Cemetery.
