Edith L. Cranford died July 10, 2012 in Richardson, Texas; formerly from Hector, Arkansas. She was born to George and Fanta Thompson October 28, 1919 in Saratoga, Arkansas. She was married to her true love Ralph Cranford for 60 years. Edith was valedictorian of her senior high school class, Saratoga, Arkansas. After business college in Missouri, she worked for the government in Washington D.C. and San Antonio, Texas. She retired from the forestry service U.S.D.A. as office administrative assistant after 37 years in Hector, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers: George Thompson, Charles Thompson, Marshall Thompson, and one sister: Nina Seay. She is survived, by her brother Byron Thompson and wife Margaret, sister Wanda Crow, nine nieces and nephews, eleven great nieces and great nephews, and a very dear friend Peggy Gregory. Her funeral will be held at Humphrey Funeral Service in Russellville, Arkansas at 10 a.m. on July 16, 2012. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at the Heights Baptist Church, Richardson, Texas on July 24, 2012. Memorials may be made to the Hector Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Hector, Arkansas or the Heights Baptist Church, Richardson, Texas.
